Math Centers and Word Work

We are getting better and better with our math centers!  Here are some of the activities that we have been up to this month!

Domino Addition

Using our Saxon Math program, we used dice to add and graph our answers.

For this game, two players take turns rolling and adding the dice.  They then remove the cube that is covering their answer.  The first one to remove all of their cubes wins!

This time we rolled one dot cube and doubled the number.  We then covered the answer.  The first to cover their card is the winner.

At the top of the picture you can see a bracelet.  We used the beads to list the different number sentences that would equal 3, 4 and then 5.

We LOVE our interactive math notebooks!  Here we had to write the missing numbers on these number lines.

We also LOVE to write around the room!  Here we had to figure out the missing number and record our answers.

Using the apple numbers we identified the number before and after.  This helped our understanding of the our one more and one less math facts.

Another math notebook entry:  Here we practiced the commutative property (flip flop strategy).

We have been moving right along with our phonics skills!  We have been working hard on the bossy R!  Below we read, wrote and then stamped the words.

Then, we had another write around the room activity.

Sight word sticks are a new favorite in our classroom.  Ask your child about it!

We made s'mores and used the opportunity to learn about adjectives!
